What’s on your Gluten Free Super Bowl XLVIII Menu?

If you’re on a special diet or still trying to stick to your New Year’s resolution revolving around healthier eating choices, you don’t have to give in to temptation and pay for it later while you’re rooting for your favorite team this Sunday!

Here are a couple great ideas on how to enjoy the company of others while eating, (I mean) watching the game, and still feel well afterwards.
Butternut Squash Chili: This chili is free of All 8 allergens, Vegan and most of all Super Satisfying and full of flavor. You may want to replace your regular old chili with this one for good. This recipe is from the Gluten Free Girl Every Day cookbook, that a friend gave to me because she got two of them for Christmas. Awesome!! I would highly recommend this cookbook as  Shauna Ahern she incorporates herbs and spices in a unique way to create delectable flavors in each of her recipes.

If you’re feeling creative and have the time, why not try this awesome Super Bowl platter? This was featured in our local newspaper this past Thursday. After looking for ideas on Pinterest and combining a couple good ideas into one, the staff at the Times Union came up with this ingenious creation. You can take care of your veggies, fruits, meats, grains and cheese all on one platter.  What a conversation piece this would be!

If you don’t have time to cook or get this inventive, you could go simple and pick up a bag of these non-GMO gluten free chips which are on sale at Price Chopper for $2 (normally $4.49). They have all sorts of flavors to choose from like Doritos does, except you don’t have to deal with the nasty effects of the wheat, soy, dairy, MSG  or whatever else is found in your typical Super Bowl chips. My favorite flavor of these recently discovered chips are the Red Hot Blues which, in my opinion taste like Spicy Doritos, but better! Why not grab a bag of these and dip them into your favorite guacamole or hummus or eat them right out of the bag!
I would love to hear what you're making or consuming this Sunday! Please feel free to share in the comments here or on my Facebook page- GLUTEN FREE B.
